# Manually opt out a number or contact in MXT 

## How to add individual numbers to your opt-out list, and remove the recipient from further communication

To manually add an individual number to your opt-out list, and therefore exclude the number from your campaign:

***1.*** Select ***‘Send Messages’*** on the left-hand side of the MXT menu, click on ***'Opt Outs’***.

**2.** Under the ***‘Add Single Opt-Out Number’*** heading, enter either the mobile number or the contact name that you wish to opt out. Then click ***‘Add to Opt-Out list’***.

**3.** If the contact is stored in a current contact list, the name and number will appear. Click ***‘Select’*** to confirm that you would like to opt out this number.

**Note:** You also have the option to [bulk opt-out contacts in MXT](https://hs.smsglobal.com/bulk-opt-out-contacts-in-mxt-smsglobal-help-center?hsLang=en-au) by uploading a CSV file.
