If you’re running a public campaign, managing opt-outs is a crucial part of adhering to relevant codes of practice for SMS Messaging.

However, you’ve got a few options when it comes to organising contacts that wish to opt-out of your campaigns.

1. Click on the cog icon on the top right-hand side of MXT. Under the 'Settings' heading, select 'SMS Settings'.

2. Find the ‘Opt Outs’ subheading. To automatically delete those who choose to opt-out from your contacts go to ‘Automatically delete Opted Out contacts from lists’, and make sure the slider switch shows 'On'.

This will automatically delete any contacts who have opted out from your contact lists to prevent any further messages from being sent.

This will also automatically stop messages being sent to users that reply with a message containing the word 'Stop', preventing any future messages from being sent to this contact group.

3. Once you have made the desired changes, click ‘Update Settings’ to confirm your changes.

Note: All numbers that have opted out will appear as ‘Invalid Numbers’ in the MXT platform.
